RACHEL DUBBER

My artworks are reflections of love, empathy, and respect, it is about the animals I portray; how their lives here affect us so profoundly and without whom we would not have accomplished so much in history. I see my work as a tribute to them and a reminder for us, to reflect on where would we be without them.

CORA MURPHY

Although abstract in form, my paintings are landscapes – they capture the essence and emotional significance of a place and / or time.

While my influences are broad, my work is largely concerned with the natural world and our place in it

Leitrim, Ireland. It allows me to use my throwing skills to make tableware and sculptural ceramics. I like the idea of making variations on themes, each series having its differences. Inspired by the magical landscape of the North West, a place still steeped in old Irish traditions. Come see my magical creations in ceramic for all occasions.

We share a sense of wonder, curiosity and passion for learning about our natural world. We point to the beauty of nature and support others to look deeply into the natural world.

KIKI ROOSLIAs a stay at home mother back in the day, my home became my cell! So a friend observed once anyhow. I often wanted to redecorate my surroundings. I would trawl through my collection of interiors magazines, gathering ideas and colour schemes, which I would then apply to my painting. I remember one spring, wanting to inject some of what was outside into my living space. Instead of buying flowers, I bought canvas and painted an abstract piece called ‘Cherry Blossom’. The pinks and whites of the petals flying on a lime to pale olive green background did exactly the trick….spring had arrived on my living room wall.

BELINDA NORTHCOTE – Belinda Northcote is an artist, illustrator and designer who produces a range of framed art work, framed prints, wall art, children’s art, water colours, classic and contemporary ladies scarves, candles and journals. Belinda takes her inspiration from the perfect designs of nature, and her work is filled with flowers, birds, insects and butterflies. As she walks her dog Theo (adorable!) through the countryside around her home on Ireland’s south-west coast she collects flowers and insects that catch her eye. Back in her studio in Shanagarry, Co. Cork the flora and fauna of the area are captured in exquisite detail in watercolours that form the basis for her beautiful designs.

BLACK HEN DESIGNS – Originally from Surrey Andrew Pain moved with his wife Vida to her native Lisacul, Co. Roscommon in 1997. Together they started Black Hen Designs in late 2010 with the idea of designing and creating a beautiful range of quirky illustrations. Andrew worked in the building trade since leaving school before embarking on a journey of becoming a self taught artist. With a keen passion for nature and all things rural, the Irish countryside became the inspiration for his designs and are now brought to life through the use of vivid colour and exaggerated form. The ideas for many of the drawings can often come from chance encounters and as there’s usually a story behind each one, a playful and uplifting title is given to these quirky contemporary designs.

They are quite charming in their simplicity! Visit the gallery to see the full range of products available.

PAUL MALONEY – Paul studied at the National College of Art & Design Dublin, and graduated in the early nineteen eighties. His pottery has modern, fluid lines and, he says, ‘walking the many beaches of Wexford and watching the changing coastline, has a continuing influence on my work, I feel lucky spending my days in my workshop or artist’s studio in Barntown, overlooking mountains and farmlands to the north, and the sea to the south’. His environment permeates his work as an artist and potter. Paul has painted in acrylic and oil throughout his life and has been a 1st Prize Winner in Europe’s largest plein air painting festival ‘Art in The Open’. He was also the overall winner of Paint Annapolis USA.

NICHOLAS MOSSE POTTERY – Welcome to the Nicholas Mosse Pottery website! And if you’re ever in Ireland, we’d love to see you and show you around our beautiful old mill. Our pottery is 44 years old now, but it sits on the shoulders of my family who have been millers here in Bennettsbridge since 1840. The artisans who work at the pottery are all local and trained in-house to make, or ‘throw’, the pottery shapes and to decorate them. Many have been with us since the very beginning and now even some of their children work with us, so it’s a real family affair and a testament to the richness of rural life in Ireland.
