In my workshop in rural Ireland, where Roscommon and Leitrim meet, I use ethically mined/sourced gemstones of the world and combine them with silver, wire, polymer clay, fine silver and other items to create unique accessories – Jewellery to bring Joy to your Day. Inspired by the local Irish landscape and our Celtic heritage and history, I make jewellery that is elegant, bold, fun, boho and chic – as unique and varied as we are.

Maureen’s jewellery is renowned for its sophisticated simplicity where detail is considered and restrained.

Her work is tactile and, without the addition of surface detail, light glints from the polished surfaces.

ROTHLU – Rothlú Jewellery is made by me, Frances McGonigle, in the Ox Mountains, County Mayo, Ireland. The Ox Mountains are pre-Ice Age low lying mountains, littered with neolithic tombs. When I’m not making jewellery I paint in the surrounding landscape. I studied Fine Art: Painting in the Crawford College of Art, Cork. Prior to that I attended Grennan Mill Craft School in Kilkenny, where I discovered batik and loved it. I’ve experimented with this discipline and other resist techniques ever since. My surroundings are full of textures and hues: my colourful lightweight jewellery is certainly inspired by all of these elements.

JULSULUV – Inspiration is in the everyday things for me —to the people I meet, from the words I see, the music I hear, to the blooms and leaves on my morning walk in all places and spaces and also just messing around with beads & components and sometimes they just happen by accident when beads and bits end up in a mess in my work space. I love when this happens. And so, I want people to feel some of this energy when they wear my pieces. I love working on the bespoke pieces, as the client can add their own emotional element to their piece. Perhaps they even want to make it themselves under my guidance. All pieces are designed and made in Ireland with joy!
