SAVINS – Established in 1959, Savins is a family run business in the heart of Limerick City. The name Savins is synonymous with everything connected to audio, video, music and home automation. Its nameplate has maintained its location on Limerick’s main thoroughfare at 111 O’Connell Street for over 60 years. Upstairs the mezzanine floor is dedicated to Pianos. We stock Yamaha’s full range of Clavinova and Arius digital pianos as well as Yamaha’s portable range of digital pianos. In the basement is the sheet music department. It is a musical experience to browse through what is available – it’s a virtual Aladdin’s musical cave with material for the beginner/amateur to the professional.

FREEBIRD RECORDS – Freebird Records was established in 1978 and held its first location on Grafton St, Dublin. In 1986 the store relocated to Eden Quay where it remained for 26 years. Freebird now resides in the Secret Book And Record Store, 15A Wicklow St.

Originally situated beside the busy fruit market at Mary’s Abbey in the city, Musicmaker moved across the city to its present 29 Exchequer Street headquarters in 1986. GANDHARVA LOKA – Gandharva Loka Dublin was opened in 2013 in the cobbled side streets of Temple Bar. Dublin was missing a World music store, a shop that could cater for musicians who were looking for ethnic or alternative musical instruments for self expression and creativity. The name Gandharva Loka was given to us by Sri Chinmoy – it is in the ancient Sanskrit language and means: ‘The Abode of the Celestial Musicians‘. As a Peace-Lover Sri Chinmoy envisioned Gandharva Loka to be a place where everyone could explore the joy and wonder of music, in turn inspiring their creativity and positivity. Gandharva Loka’s first store came into being in 1989 in Zurich, and we also have sister stores in Berlin, Vienna, Salzburg, Christchurch and Reykjavik.

McCULLOUGH PIGOTT– McCullough Pigott has been part of Dublin’s music scene since 1823. Known as one of the principal music stores in the city, Pigott’s dealt with brass and woodwind instruments as well as pianos. Denis McCullough was a trained luthier and piano tuner from Belfast. Following a fire in his Dublin music store in the 1960s, the two companies merged and became McCullough Pigott. McCullough Pigott was taken over in the early 1990s by Joe Lynch and Music in Print who kept the store’s tradition as the principal brass and woodwind dealers as well as stocking the most comprehensive sheet music selection in the country. Today the shop is run by a small team of dedicated music professionals.
